Count your blessings!

count your blessingsI know it’s Christmas time, the season for giving, the perfect time to be kind and give presents and so on.

It’s also the last month of the year so people have the custom to look at life in retrospect and do an overall analysis. I don’t say it’s a bad thing because it’s not, we actually should do this more often, not just once a year…at the very end (or sometimes not even then).

What do you see when you are looking back at your life and/or year?

This is a great opportunity to be fair with yourself. I have encountered people these days that were very unhappy with their life because of all the small things, despite the fact that it’s „the season of giving and happiness” and all the small annoyances should not matter.

People have the tendency to be ungrateful.
But if you have a family that loves you, a few good friends, food on the table and a roof above your head then you are richer than you thing.

Gratitude is the sign of noble souls.(Aesop)

Being grateful is a door that will open so many opportunities and blessings. „For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.” (Matthew 13:12)

This is about gratitude, if you are grateful things will come to you and you will learn how to be at peace with what you have. Even being grateful is a discipline. You have to practice until it will come naturally.

So yes, this means count your blessing. If you are looking back at your life be grateful for all the happy times, for every special moment spent with your dear ones, be grateful for every time you tried and fail, because it was a lesson and hopefully you have learned it. Be grateful everyday for being able to open your eyes and see. Be grateful for everything and be kind. A happy heart makes the face cheerful!

Someone once said „The world is full of nice people, if you can’t find one, be one!”

Remember to be impeccable with your attitude and with your words and do your best in everything. Stay positive and the ups will be more frequent than the downs.

So today I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas! Lots of happiness, a heart full of gratitude and a soul full of peace!

Good Luck!

„No one who achieves success does so without the help of others. The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude.” (Alfred North Whitehead)
„I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” (Gilbert Keith Chesterton)
